Our Retreat House

The Abbey Retreat House is a ministry of the Benedictine nuns of the Abbey of St. Walburga. Our aim is to provide a quiet place where individuals or groups may spend time in prayer and reflection for one or more days.

The Abbey guest wing has single bedrooms with private bathrooms. All buildings on the Abbey grounds are smoke-free. We cannot accommodate personal pets.

Continental breakfast, lunch, and supper are served in the guest dining room. We will do our best to meet special dietary requirements. When you make reservations, please advise us of any food allergies or other special needs (i.e., need for a room on the first floor) .

All visitors are welcome to join us in praying the Divine Office (Liturgy of the Hours), as well as in the celebration of the Eucharist. (Please note that only Catholics are allowed to receive Holy Communion; others are welcome to come forward for a blessing from the priest.)

We do not offer Wi-Fi access to guests.  Due to the terrain, cell phone coverage is limited on our property. The only provider that seems to work here is Verizon.

Individuals may also make reservations for non-structured, undirected retreat time Wednesday through Sunday, when space is available. Weekends are busy, as is the entire summer season, but we are happy to fit individuals when possible.

Catholic priests and religious may call us to make specific arrangements for retreats.
